Brandon Presley is currently Mississippi’s Public Service Commissioner and is running for the governorship of Mississippi as a moderate Democrat.
It turns out that he is already off to a bad start as he has apparently accepted donations from a Chinese national who has ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and to President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, according to Fox News.
This could put his campaign in jeopardy as voters may view him as too close to China or too cozy with the Bidens.
This is problematic for several reasons. Firstly, Wanxiang America has been known to have links with the Chinese government.
Secondly, it raises questions as to why a foreign-owned company was invited to visit the White House while Presley was running for office.
Thirdly, it casts doubt on the legitimacy of the donation and whether or not it was given in exchange for political favors.
Finally, it could be seen as an attempt by Ni and Han to influence U.S. politics through monetary means.
Fox reports:
The parent company, Wanxiang Group, posthumously awarded the company’s founder, Lu Guanqiu, the title of “National Outstanding Communist Party Member” in a 2021 press release and praised Guanqiu in the release as regarding “the pursuit of communism as a lifelong ideal and practice.”
The outlet adds:
It also said he “insisted that the development of an enterprise is inseparable from the correct leadership of the party.” The founder’s bio on the Wanxiang website says he was elected as the 13th and 14th Representatives of the Communist Part of China, and a delegate to the 9th, 10th, and 11th Chinese National People’s Congress.
The corruption certainly does run deep with the Bidens.
And, if all of this is not bad enough for Presley—the supposed moderate Democrat—Fox also reports that he has accepted donations from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams as well as New York billionaire and Democratic mega-donor Philip Munger.
It is safe to conclude that Presley is anything but a moderate.
