Well, they finally did it. The Obama administration has finally decided to terminate their contract with CGI Federal , the Obamacare website developer at the end of February.
Never mind that their contract was scheduled to expire anyway… at the end of February. I’m sure it would have taken an act of Congress to kill the contract prematurely, so we probably just had to wait it out.
Never mind that their termination is 5 months after their completely failed website launch… that they had 2 years to prepare for.
But, hey, this botched roll-out has a bright side… the White House is now thinking about establishing a department to handle IT ventures across all agencies. Because what we need is another layer of bureaucracy to help make things run more smoothly?! At least there’s more jobs… that WE have to pay for! I’m still looking for the silver lining.
And of course… the person responsible for the roll-out, Kathleen Sebelius, is still employed, at our expense, and tasked with taking another stab at the implementation of the website.
Does anyone else wonder if we’ll be receiving a refund of our hard-earned tax dollars? I’m not holding my breath. I don’t recommend you do either.
