Maybe it’s just me… but when I read things like this I think, “why?”
Why are we pouring money into studies in other countries?
Is this a problem in the United States that we need help with from that other country?
If it is, I’ve not heard about it.
It would be one thing if we, as a country, had more money than we knew what to do with and wanted to be charitable. But with our national debt approaching $17 TRILLION… we just idiots! We don’t have the money to prop up other countries.
Sure. It’s only $400,000. Well, $2.2 million if you count the related studies. But even so… $2.2 million is barely a drop in the bucket toward our national debt or our budget deficit which is $647 BILLION.
But if there are this many “little” grants going to one country, how many other “little” grants are going to other countries? And how much would it all add up to be? If I had to guess, I’d bet it’s pretty significant.
