Idaho middle school parents have to be careful not cheer for their basketball players. No shouts for joy or words of encouragement allowed… otherwise, they’ll be remanded to the PENALTY BOX!
Now I can understand not allowing demeaning and derogatory statements to the kids. But not allowing encouragement?
School administrators say it’s too distracting to the players. Cheers are distracting? Isn’t teaching them focus actually part of the game?
Coddling our children is not healthy and does nothing to prepare them for the real world. I can see nothing beneficial in this policy. What about you? Let me hear your thoughts!
