Britain’s communities secretary, Eric Pickles, says militant atheists should “get over” it, saying Britain is a “Christian nation.”
Unlike the U.S., Britain actually does have an established state church, the Church of England. Oh, and it is Christian. Has been for a long time.
He was quoted saying, “We’re a Christian nation. We have an established church. Get over it. And don’t impose your politically correct intolerance on others.”
He goes on to say that they do not appease “extremism of any sort. Be it the EDL, be it extreme Islamists or be thuggish far-left, they’re all as bad as each other.”
I guess that explains “God Save the Queen”.
