The IRS has paid $1 million in BONUSES to workers who owe back taxes! How is that even possible? Seems it’d just be common sense that the IRS would withhold the amount owed from the bonus. But those sticky employment laws prevent that from happening.
Of all the things that just don’t make sense… an IRS agent, government employee, sworn to uphold the law and enforce IRS code, owing back taxes but still eligible to receive and actually getting bonuses from the IRS, paid for by you and me… well that pretty much tops the list. At least for this week.
