By now you may have already seen or read about Slate’s Rebecca Helm’s bizarre Mother’s Day thank you letter. In true feminist form, Helm criticizes the fetus (herself) for “invading” her mother and doing all sorts of “destructive” things. WOW!
What I found truly amazing is the complete absence of any mention of a male contributing to this fetal invasion. Was she miraculously conceived? No. I’m thinking there was a man involved. Interesting that Helm skipped over that part. Perhaps the next installment of her column will be the Father’s Day edition. Can you only imagine how that one will read? If she thought the baby was invasive…
