Unblocking the porn filters at school for sex ed

This textbook was so explicit that they had to shut off the school’s internet porn filter in order for the School Board Members to review the content! So why was this textbook in use at a local high school? It’s all in the name of sex education, of course. I don’t know about you, but nothing in my sex ed classes would have even bordered on getting caught in a porn filter. It was more scientifically based facts. Not sexually explicit content.

Thankfully, some local parents issued the rally cry and filed into the school board meeting in protest. According to the Pacific Justice Institute, “Ultimately, the board voted to pull the book from the 9th grade health classes but explore the possibility of an elective for 11th and 12th graders based on the book.”

Let me get this straight… the book’s content was so explicit that the porn filter had to be turned off, so the Superintendent thinks it should be offered as an honors class?! So if you make really good grades you can go to a special class that offers explicit sexual materials? Does this make sense to anyone, because it doesn’t to me.

You shouldn’t need a reason to stay involved in your child’s schooling all the way through to graduation, but if you did, this story should take care of that!

Here’s the link to Pacific Justice Institute in case you want to read more… or need their services in your district.
