So the new definition of “privilege” applies to anyone who worked hard for something and owns it. Because they’re better off than lazy thugs who refuse to work for themselves. And, apparently, that gives the lazy thugs an excuse to take what others have worked for… you know… because they’re PRIVILEGED!
What’s really sad is, at least this one college student (though I suspect this mindset is prevalent on college campuses) says he deserved to be mugged because of his privilege! Seriously!
“If we ever want opportunistic crime to end, we should look at ourselves first. Simply amplifying police presence will not solve the issue. Police protect us by keeping those ‘bad people’ out of our neighborhood, and I’m grateful for it. And yet, I realize it’s self-serving and doesn’t actually fix anything.”
“The millennial generation is taking over the reins of the world, and thus we are presented with a wonderful opportunity to right some of the wrongs of the past,” writes Friedfeld. “Until we do so, we should get comfortable with sporadic muggings and break-ins. I can hardly blame them. The cards are all in our hands, and we’re not playing them.”
I’m sure by now your jaw has dropped. Just think what our future will look like with millennials like this. Are you scared yet? It’s time for action folks, it’s not too late… yet.
