Two large swastikas were spray-painted onto the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house Saturday morning, at University of California, Davis. While detectives investigate the hate crime against this Jewish fraternity. A Muslim civil liberties group came out in solidarity to show their support.
Unfortunately, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made according to Davis police.
UC Davis Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi called the behavior
“repugnant and a gross violation of the values our university holds dear.”
Nathaniel Bernhard President of UC Davis was concerned that “the hate crime threatened to rekindle campus race tensions.”
This is a sad a event that happened. We should be able to attend college without being in fear for what we believe.
