Apparently fixing unemployment is easy. Republican Gov. Paul LePage of Maine saw his unemployment rates climbing out of control. So he took action. What a concept! He decided that every non-disabled residents on unemployment would be required to volunteer or work for the state-county-city at least 20 hours a week. Guess what happened as a result? Out of the 12,000 non-disabled welfare recipients without children who were on the rolls last year, only 2,680 remain as of now, according to David Sorensen, spokesman for the Department of Health and Services.
So people will leach if you make it easy for them to do so!
