Earth Day 1970: An ice age was unavoidable within 20 years (oops!)

This week we celebrated the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. Well, some of us celebrated it. Others of us took a look back to see how far we’ve come. And then, I came across an article with some of the “highlights” from the first Earth Day in 1970.

From the predictions they made, you’d have thought the world was coming to an end by 1990! No joke. They predicted mass starvation, hundreds of millions of deaths, and an impending ice age that was unavoidable.

Now we have global warming (did I miss the ice age?) and plenty of food.

Why do we continue to listen to these liberals who cry wolf?

Take a look at the predictions from the article. You’ll enjoy it, trust me. I’ll leave you with one just to whet your appetite…

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” — Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich
