You just have to wonder… we were just more trusting of the media 50 years ago? Maybe we were. Or maybe, we just didn’t have access to up-to-the-minute incident reports, photos, and videos the way that we do now through social media and the internet. Maybe the media has ALWAYS been skewed, feeding us the narrative the way they wanted us to view it, the way that THEY viewed it.
It’s hard to imagine Walter Kronkite and the rest of the “old-school” newscasters and journalists framing incidents through their own prism the way that the mainstream media does these days to push their own agenda. I hope that wasn’t the case. We’ll probably never know for sure.
True unbiased journalism is difficult to find. But at least with the internet, citizen journalists can continue to provide eye-witness accounts to offset the biased narrative and give truth a chance to be seen.
Now get out there, keep an eye on things, and report back!
