In sanctuary cities across the United States, federal, state, and local officials are colluding with criminal illegal aliens, and allowing them to have the run of this country to prey on American citizens.
The tragic and unnecessary death of Kathryn Steinle, is yet another example of the cost American citizens are forced to pay to accommodate illegal aliens and corrupt politicians, who care more about currying votes than keeping us safe.
According to Jessica Vaughn of the Center for Immigration Studies, from January to August, 2014, state and local sanctuary policies resulted in the release of 8,145 criminal illegal aliens who were sought by ICE for deportation. Of those freed, 63% had prior criminal histories or were labeled a public safety concern at the time of their release. Nearly 3,000 had a prior felony conviction or charge, and close to 1900 of the released offenders were subsequently arrested for another crime within that 8-month period.
In March, 2008, Jamiel Shaw 11, a 17 year-old African-American high school football player, was shot in the head by a twice-deported illegal alien who was eligible for citizenship under the DREAM Act.
According to The Blaze.com, Jamiel’s father testified at a House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee hearing on sanctuary cities. As he blasted the Obama administration’s immigration policies, Mr. Shaw asked the committee, “Do black lives matter? Or does it matter only if you are shot by a white person or a white policeman?”
In October, 2014, two Deputy Sheriffs, Michael Davis and Daniel Oliver of Placer County, California, were both shot and killed by an illegal alien who had been twice deported.
Maria Espinoza, director of the Remembrance Project, an organization that memorializes Americans killed by illegal aliens, told Breitbart News that such crimes “happen every day” in America.
On November 16, 2010, Josh Wilkerson, 18, was murdered by an illegal alien classmate, who was eligible for citizenship under the DREAM Act. After offering to give his classmate a ride home from school, the DREAMer from Belize showed his gratitude by punching Josh in the nose so hard that he went blind. The illegal alien proceeded to then kick Josh in the stomach so hard that Josh’s liver and spleen sliced. After strangling Josh to death, the DREAMer tied him up, took him to a field, doused him with gasoline, and set him on fire.
Because this human piece of garbage was living in a sanctuary city, the police could not even ask him the immigration status of his parents at the time of his arrest.
While deferring the deportation of thousands of illegal aliens from our country is considered a DREAM for Democrats and President Obama, it was a death sentence for Josh Wilkerson, Jamiel Shaw, Deputy Sheriff Michael Davis, Deputy Sheriff Daniel Oliver, Kathryn Steinle, and thousands more Americans killed by illegal aliens.
Why is it that we now have 43 states with 276 state and local jurisdictions that have sanctuary policies in the United States?
According to a report by Fox News, in 2008, Congress created “Secure Communities”, which was intended to use local jails as a choke point or screen to separate law-abiding illegals from criminal aliens who overstayed their visas or committed crimes in the United States.
When a suspect was booked into jail, their fingerprints were automatically checked against an immigration database to determine if they were deportable. Congress mandated the program after 9-11, because, in the past, they could not identify 9 out of 10 illegal immigrants who were doing time in local jails.
Although the program was very successful, the Obama administration ended the program last year. Why? Because Democrat politicians in the larger, more diverse cities complained that too many illegals, guilty of non-violent crimes like traffic tickets, theft, and burglary, were being subjected to deportation.
Their solution was to enact sanctuary laws to shield those illegal alien criminals from being picked up by ICE agents, by prohibiting local police from cooperating with them. The Fox report states that the sanctuary laws have gone too far. Not only are drunk drivers and thieves being exempted from deportation, but child molesters and killers are being exempted.
We cannot allow this lawlessness to continue in our country. Illegal aliens have no right to be in this country, and criminal aliens must be deported or jailed.
The Republican presidential nominee must vow to impose financial sanctions against cities and counties that refuse to comply with federal immigration law, and must repeal the anchor baby laws that grant automatic citizenship to any child born on American soil.
