During President Obama’s recent speech following the SCOTUS same-sex marriage ruling he said, in part:
“Shifts in hearts and minds is possible,” he said. “And those who have come so far on their journey to equality have a responsibility to reach back and help others join them. Because for all our differences, we are one people — stronger together than we could ever be alone.”
H/T to Miss CJ over at ChicksOnTheRight for her stellar translation of this (and more) of President Obama’s speech:
Translation: All you crazy religious people who believe in traditional marriage need to change your beliefs! They’re holding you back from joining up with the rest of us super-smart people who aren’t burdened by those pesky moral standards given to you by a Higher Power. We know soooooo much better than you and we certainly know soooooo much better than God! Drop the religion crap already and come join us in supporting something you find morally repugnant! Give it time – you’ll get over it soon enough!
Yep, that pretty much sums it up. Thanks for the translation.
Do you think the Pope is going to buy into that?
