Why is it such a big deal that the wrong drug was used for lethal injection in Oklahoma death penalty case? OK. Yes, he suffered a few extra, unexpected minutes before dying. And we certainly want to be as humane as possible when executing someone. But let’s get serious about this… if you don’t want to be subjected to the death penalty, don’t do the crime.
11-month-old Adrianna Waller was raped and murdered nearly 20 years ago. It’s not fresh in anyone’s mind other than the immediate family and those close to the case. Finding the details via internet search took some digging, but here it is, lest you think we’ve mistreated this MONSTER in his departure from this planet:
There could be no debate about the cruelty of the crime.
It happened Aug. 22, 1997, in the home that Warner and his two children shared with Waller, who is variously described as an ex-girlfriend or former roommate in court papers. Waller went out to run errands and when she returned, the child was unconscious. Resuscitation efforts failed and the baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An autopsy uncovered a horror: a crushing injury to the head and brain damage, a broken jaw, three fractured ribs, a lacerated liver, a bruised spleen and lungs, eye hemorrhages consistent with being shaken and rectal tears. Warner’s own son testified that he saw his dad shaking the baby.
Was there this much outcry over the pain and suffering this criminal inflicted on that 11-month-old baby when he raped and eventually killed her??
How long did SHE suffer through the torture he inflicted on her that eventually caused her death?
How long was she screaming before her body finally gave out?
Did he give even a MOMENT of thought to her humanity or about treating HER humanely? You know he wasn’t, or he wouldn’t have done what he did.
Still feeling sorry for Charles Warner’s execution? Take a good look at her photo. Look at how tiny and helpless she was. Warner should thank God that the “eye for an eye” law isn’t in effect. He got off easy compared to that little girl.
