Perhaps one of the most prominent stances that presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is known for is her fight for women’s rights. From equal pay to her coined phrase “you have a right to be believed,” Hillary appears to be a candidate that truly dedicated #I’mWithHer to not only herself but to the women of America.
However, her supposed sympathetic character once again proved to be deceiving. After posting a hopeful quote for rape victims on her website’s home page, Clinton’s staff later took it down. It seems as though Hillary is getting into the habit of “deleting” her problems.
The quote “you have a right to be believed” was dedicated to rape victims in Hillary’s speech in which she stated: “I want to send a message to every survivor of sexual assault: Don’t let anyone silence your voice. You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed.”
However, after the history of sexual assault allegations against Bill Clinton surfaced, as well as Hillary’s vicious attacks on those victims in attempts to cover for her husband, the quote was quickly taken down. Why? Because Hillary can’t stand by her word, as her quote would also have to apply to the women who accused Bill of assaulting them. It wasn’t just Bill who discredited them… she did too… and it was done very publicly. Doesn’t everyone have a right to be believed now, Hillary?
Judging from the monetary settlements awarded to several of the victims, it looks like the Clintons believed them. They just didn’t want everyone else to.
