The current U.S. Ambassador to Denmark, Carla Sands, raised a pair of issues with the 2020 election when she tweeted on Sunday that her vote was not counted and that her husband, who has been deceased for five years, has continued to receive a ballot in the last three elections, including this one.
Sands’ tweets, taking issue with the 2020 election, come after several news outlets on Saturday called the presidential race for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, and as President Donald Trump and his team have raised concerns about illegal votes being counted.
On Sunday, Sands tweeted showing her vote had not been counted through the Pennsylvania Secretary of State voting portal. She said, “Every Legal vote should count. Please don’t disenfranchise me and my fellow voters in order to win at all costs. The world is watching. The legitimacy of the election is at stake. @realDonaldTrump #Disenfranchised.”
Sands’ photo of the Pennsylvania Secretary of State voting portal includes a label stating, “We were unable to match your information with our records. You may edit your information and try your search again or you may contact your county election official office to confirm the status of your ballot.”
American Military News has reached out to the Pennsylvania Secretary of State’s office about Sands’ ballot status, but they have not responded.
Sands’ call for every legal vote to be counted is similar to one Trump made in a Saturday press statement, when he said, “The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots.”
In an earlier tweet on Sunday, Sands said, “My husband died 5 years ago and Los Angeles, CA still sends him ballots. Americans should demand our elections are honest, fair and transparent. If we are going to sell Democracy around the world, we have to LEAD BY EXAMPLE! Demand clean elections! @realDonaldTrump”
