Can Trump Beat Biden?

Former President Trump leads President Biden in a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll released Monday about a 2024 run, and it looks bad for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump garnered 47 percent of support compared to Biden’s 41 percent, with 12 percent undecided.

Vice President Kamala Harris fared even worse against Trump, only getting 38 percent compared to Trump’s 49 percent.

If Trump and Biden do not run in 2024, the poll found that Harris would only lead against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) by two points: 40 percent to 38 percent.

“I would not give a lot of weight to trial heats right now other than they reflect the weakness of Biden and the administration right now,” Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, told The Hill. “That Trump beats them both by a wide margin suggests most Republican nominees once known fully by the public would beat them unless they are able to pivot out of the current nadir in their numbers.”
