On Thursday, House Oversight Chairman James Comer issued additional subpoenas to Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s associate; George Berges, Hunter’s art gallerist; and Elizabeth Naftali, the Democrat donor who purchased his artwork.
This follows Comer’s subpoenaing of Hunter and James Biden for in-person depositions on Wednesday as part of the Committee’s impeachment inquiry.
The Republican-led Committee on Oversight issued subpoenas to:
Hunter Biden’s Business Associates
◾️ Eric Schwerin
◾️ Mervyn Yan
Hunter’s Art Gallerist
◾️ George Bergès
Hunter’s Art Patron & Major Dem Donor
◾️ Elizabeth Naftali
Chairman Comer asked for a transcribed interview with a former representative of Americore Holdings, LLC concerning the “loans” the Bidens were given.
Eric Schwerin is Hunter Biden’s business partner and president at Rosemont Seneca Partners.
He reportedly visited the White House 36 times during the Obama administration, had a sit-down meeting with Joe Biden, and was in charge of transferring Joe Biden’s documents to the University of Delaware. Schwerin has also been linked to transferring classified information to Ukraine.
The New York Post reported that Soho art dealer Georges Bergès has had close connections to China and was at one point arrested for “terrorist threats”.
His upcoming solo show will feature the work of Hunter, with prices ranging from $75,000 for works on paper to a maximum of $500,000 for large-scale paintings.
In June 2021, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that the gallerist would not divulge any information about buyers or potential buyers, including their identities, to Hunter Biden or the administration.
This was seen as a way of protecting the privacy of those involved. However, it was later revealed that Hunter Biden did meet with people interested in his artwork at a private event in Los Angeles.
This summer, a troubling pay-to-play scheme involving Joe Biden and his son Hunter was revealed. Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a major Democrat donor and real estate investor from Los Angeles, was identified as one of the buyers of Hunter’s artwork.
It later emerged that 8 months after Naftali purchased Hunter Biden’s art, she was appointed to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad by Joe Biden. Even more concerningly, Naftali has visited the Biden White House multiple times and met with senior advisors.
In 2018, Jim Biden received $600,000 in ‘loans’ from Americore Health LLC, a failing/bankrupt rural hospital operator. According to bankruptcy documents, the loans were given “based upon representations that his last name Biden could open doors and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”
On March 1, 2018, AmeriCore transferred $200,000 to Jim and Sara Biden’s personal bank account.
The same day, they wrote a check for $200,000 labeled as a “loan repayment” to Joe Biden (whom they refer to as “The Big Guy”).
There is no documentation proving that Joe lent this money; the terms of this loan remain unknown. Furthermore, Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali – a major Democrat donor appointed by Joe Biden to a prestigious commission – was one of Hunter Biden’s buyers for his art piece in 2022.
However it is uncertain if she was appointed before or after her purchase of the artwork. She has visited the White House more than twelve times and met with senior advisors.
Jim Biden was accused of defrauding Americore by making false claims that he could save the company with the Biden name, and reports suggest Joe Biden may have benefited from the alleged fraud.
Furthermore, a major Democratic donor and Biden-appointed commissioner has been identified as one of Hunter Biden’s art buyers, raising questions about whether or not they received any favors from the White House.
Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali visited the White House more than a dozen times and met with senior advisors shortly after purchasing Hunter Biden’s artwork in July 2022.
Joe Biden had appointed her to a prestigious commission at some point prior to or following this purchase, although it is unclear when exactly this happened.
