According to law enforcement, two teenagers who intentionally drove into pedestrians in Seattle, Washington and posted videos of the incidents online have been apprehended.
The individuals responsible for these shocking attacks were a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy.
The incidents occurred around November 26.
The first victim, a female, was struck near 107th and Aurora Avenue North at 1:50 a.m. Surveillance footage revealed that bystanders quickly came to her aid. The second victim was hit while walking in the bus lane on Aurora Avenue North.
The video showed him being propelled over the car’s hood upon impact.
Due to the extreme nature of these acts, law enforcement dedicated significant effort and resources towards identifying the suspects.
In one of the videos, a female can be heard encouraging the driver to hit someone. She says, “Hit this b****, hit this b****!”
Despite dedicating extensive hours to sifting through records, the police were unsuccessful in identifying the victims. However, once the videos were made public, the victims came forward to confess that they had suffered severe injuries.
Additionally, it was discovered that both vehicles used in the attacks had been stolen but later recovered.
Subsequently, on Thursday, the two teenagers responsible were apprehended by the police and taken into custody at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.
Upon review of the case by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, there was sufficient evidence to charge the boy with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of felony hit and run causing injury, as well as possession of a stolen vehicle.
On the other hand, probable cause was found for charging the younger girl with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
