Michael Roman, the co-defendant in Trump’s RICO case, has submitted a compelling and explosive response to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
In his reply, Roman accuses Willis of deceiving the court regarding her romantic involvement with Nathan Wade, the lead Trump prosecutor she appointed.
Reports from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution suggest that Fani Willis allegedly gained financial advantages through her relationship with Nathan Wade. Earlier, an official motion was filed on behalf of Michael Roman in Fulton County’s Superior Court.
As a former member of the Trump campaign who now faces seven charges in Fani Willis’ RICO case, Roman asserts that Nathan Wade funded their shared luxurious trips to Napa Valley and a Caribbean cruise.
Furthermore, it is alleged that funds from Fulton County were used to facilitate these excursions.
“County records show that Wade, who has played a prominent role in the election interference case, has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. The DA authorizes his compensation.” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Earlier this month, Fani Willis openly confessed to being engaged in a sexual relationship with Nathan Wade, the lead prosecutor she appointed to oversee Trump’s RICO case.
In a comprehensive court document spanning 176 pages, Willis acknowledged the inappropriate connection with her lover.
This came as a response to a motion filed by Michael Roman, one of Trump’s co-defendants, accusing Willis of misconduct.
Willis firmly stated that neither Roman nor Trump, who supported Roman’s efforts to remove her from the case, were able to substantiate any conflict of interest.
“Defendants have done nothing to establish an actual conflict of interest, nor have they shown that, in the handling of the case, District Attorney Willis or Special Prosecutor Wade have acted out of any personal or financial motivation,” the filing said.
Nathan Wade admitted to having a sexual relationship with Fani Willis, however, he said the relationship didn’t start until 2022 – way after she hired him as top prosecutor in 2021.
“In 2022, District Attorney Willis and I developed a personal relationship in addition to our professional association and friendship,” Nathan Wade said.
