President Donald J. Trump was directed on February 16 to pay $454 million in penalties by Judge Engoron for fraudulently inflating his assets to enhance his net worth.
The imposed fee, determined solely by Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron, comprised approximately $355 million in disgorgement and over $98 million in prejudgment interest at a rate of 9% per year.
In addition, the ruling included a three-year prohibition on President Trump serving as an officer or director in NYC businesses and applying for loans from any financial institution chartered or registered in New York.
AG Letitia James, who ran on a platform of “targeting Trump,” has issued a warning to take possession of President Trump’s valuable properties in New York, such as his Westchester golf course and Seven Springs estate.
This comes as he races to come up with the hefty $464 million bond payment.
In a Truth Social post only one hour ago, President Trump lashed out at the “often overturned political hack judge (Engoron) on the rigged and corrupt AG case, where I have done nothing wrong.”
President Trump began, “Through hard work, talent, and luck, I currently have almost five hundred million dollars in cash, a substantial amount of which I intended to use in my campaign for President.”
