A federal appeals court on Thursday rejected Hunter Biden’s bid to toss gun charges.
“The defendant in this criminal case appealed three pretrial orders entered on April 12, 2024, denying his motions to dismiss the indictment,” the court document released Thursday states. “This appeal is DISMISSED because the defendant has not shown the District Court’s orders are appealable before final judgment.”
In September, Hunter Biden found himself at the center of legal controversies as he faced a federal indictment on gun charges.
The charges stemmed from his possession of a firearm while under the influence of drugs, a serious offense that landed him in a Delaware court facing three counts.
Among these counts were two carrying a maximum prison sentence of 10 years each, with the third having a maximum penalty of five years, as per NBC News reports.
Asserting his innocence, Hunter entered a plea of not guilty to all three felony gun charges in October, setting the stage for a legal battle that would only escalate in complexity and gravity.

In another jurisdiction, specifically the Central District of California, Hunter was confronted with a separate 9-count indictment comprising charges related to tax evasion, failure to file/pay taxes, and submitting false or fraudulent tax returns.
