On Tuesday, a leak exposed Vice President Kamala Harris’s choice for her running mate in the November presidential election.
Many were surprised to discover that Harris did not select Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a candidate with a more moderate image who could have helped Democrats win Pennsylvania and other crucial swing states.
Instead, Harris decided to partner with Minnesota’s progressive Democratic Gov. Tim Walz.
This decision is already causing problems for her as Walz’s progressive policies are being brought to public attention.
One particularly damaging video of the Walz selection is from March 2023, when the governor signed a bill granting illegal immigrants the right to obtain driver’s licenses in Minnesota.

In March 2023, Walz signed a bill that went into effect in September of the same year, granting undocumented individuals unrestricted access to legal documentation. These individuals were not required to take the necessary tests for a driver’s license in English.
According to CBS News, driver tests in the state are available in English, Spanish, Somali, Hmong, Vietnamese, Russian and Karen.
This move has been criticized as rewarding those who have entered the country illegally.
Additionally, concerns have been raised by many Minnesota Republicans about how this bill, combined with automatic voter registration for all driver’s license recipients, could potentially allow undocumented individuals to vote in elections.
While this is still technically illegal, it is unclear how Minnesota authorities would enforce such a restriction given the operation of both laws.
The Center of the American Experiment, a Minnesota public policy think tank, further highlighted this issue in a report from 2023.
“Democrats supporting both bills brushed off concerns that illegal immigrants receiving driver’s licenses would be able to register and vote,” the report noted.
“The driver’s license bill specifically prohibits the Department of Public Safety from sharing this information with any other agency, including the Secretary of State, preventing the cross-checking of new licensees with the voter database.
“House Democrats are relying completely on the honor system to prevent a non-citizen from canceling out your vote.”
In states such as Minnesota, which typically lean Democratic, leaders like Walz seem to be making extensive efforts to grant illegal immigrants crossing the southern border the right to vote in elections.
The key figure spearheading this initiative is now the running mate of Kamala Harris.
