Presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent, has been engaging in backroom negotiations to secure a significant role in the government in exchange for stepping aside from the 2024 race.
According to reports from Fox News, Kennedy has approached Vice President Kamala Harris offering to withdraw from the race and endorse her in exchange for a Cabinet position.
Kennedy’s move comes after a New York judge ruled against including his name on the state’s ballot, dealing a blow to his already slim chances.
Undeterred, he sought a meeting with Harris through intermediaries to negotiate a potential role within her administration. However, Harris and her campaign have shown no interest in considering such a proposition.
This isn’t the first time Kennedy has attempted to strike a deal with a major political figure.
In fact, just last month he reportedly made a similar offer to former President Donald Trump at a convention in Milwaukee.
Despite his efforts, no agreement was reached, leaving Kennedy to continue his campaign independently.
As one of the most disruptive independent candidates in recent memory, Kennedy appears determined to maintain his influence in American politics.
While he continues on the campaign trail and makes media appearances, he remains open to forming an alliance with either Harris or Trump if they are willing to embrace his vision for the country.
In a recent interview with the Washington Post, Kennedy emphasized the importance of dialogue, saying, “From the beginning of this campaign, we were saying people should be talking to each other.
That is the only way of unifying the country.” He also hinted that Harris’s reluctance to meet with him could be a strategic error for the Democrats.
Despite these overtures, Kennedy took to social media to clarify his stance, making it clear that he has no intention of endorsing Harris.
“VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values,” Kennedy posted on X. “I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her.”
VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values.
The Democratic Party of RFK and JFK was the party of civil liberties and free speech. VP Harris‘s is the party of censorship, lockdowns, and medical coercion.…

Meanwhile, there is speculation that Kennedy may be seeking a deal with the Trump camp. Sources close to Trump’s campaign, speaking anonymously, have indicated ongoing discussions between Kennedy’s team and Trump’s advisers.
However, no formal agreement has been made, and both campaigns have been secretive about the potential partnership.
Kennedy’s relationship with the Democratic Party remains strained, with the candidate stating that his only interaction with the DNC has been through legal battles aimed at restricting his independent run.
As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen whether Kennedy will continue his solo campaign or align himself with a major candidate to maintain a presence in the political arena.
