A 23-year-old Peruvian illegal immigrant, Jesus Enrique Ramirez Cabrera, was arrested in Manassas, Virginia for allegedly abducting a high school student on her way to school.
The incident took place on Thursday, September 6, 2024. Cabrera reportedly pretended to be a law enforcement officer and forced the girl into his vehicle as she walked along Clover Hill Road.
He is now facing multiple charges including abduction, robbery, impersonation of law enforcement, and petit larceny.
The Manassas Police Department (MPD) received a report from a concerned resident who saw the distressed girl near the intersection of Quarry Road and Zebedee Street at around 8:40 a.m.
Further investigation revealed that Cabrera approached the girl in a red Jeep SUV and claimed to be a police officer. He then forced her into his vehicle after she hesitated.
The girl managed to escape when the vehicle reached Quarry Road and sought help from a nearby resident who then contacted the police.
Authorities originally described the suspect as a Hispanic man around 40 years old with black hair and a beard.
However, after an extensive two-day investigation and search warrant executed at a residence in the 10000 block of Makelys Way, detectives identified Cabrera as the suspect and apprehended him on Friday, September 8th.
