Have you ever wondered if there’s some kind of secret playbook that Democrats are following, showing them how to turn these confrontations at ICE facilities into some sort of political spectacle? Jennifer Oliver O’Connell from RedState pointed out a recent incident in California, and now it looks like we’ve got another scene unfolding in Chicago. This time, the politicians involved let slip their misplaced priorities.
In this latest drama, Illinois Democrat Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi and Jonathan Jackson decided to make a grand entrance at a Chicago ICE facility, demanding entry. They strutted and showed off, trying to impress the person at the entry window with their self-importance. But the man at the window wasn’t having any of it. He calmly told them they had no special privileges and even informed them that the police were on their way before shutting the window on them.
.@rep_jackson and I were just denied entry to the South Loop ICE facility in Chicago.
We went to ask questions and perform congressional oversight of potential illegal ICE activities as Donald Trump’s administration targets immigrant communities.

This led to a segment on MSNBC where Jackson shared more footage, showing the two politicians trying to persuade another worker at the facility’s security fence. Once again, they were met with the same lack of interest. Jackson complained about their supposed powers of congressional oversight and grumbled about being told they needed to schedule a visit beforehand.
It seems like this is a recurring theme with these events. Democrats show up at ICE locations unannounced, expecting everyone to stop what they’re doing and cater to their demands. When they’re told they don’t have any authority, they put on a show for the cameras, claiming they were treated poorly by the agents.
And speaking of cameras, isn’t it interesting how these incidents are always captured on film? The press seems to have stories ready to go or at least quickly gets their hands on video clips for immediate reporting. In the case of the Chicago incident, it’s clear that this was all about creating a show.
Even though Democrats have been told time and again to make prior arrangements before visiting these facilities, it seems that message never reached Rep. Krishnamoorthi and Rep. Jackson. Instead, they had the time and energy to alert the press about their “surprise” visit.
At least half a dozen media outlets, including Univision, were tipped off about their visit. Yet, somehow, they neglected to inform the facility officials? That should tell you everything you need to know about the performative nature of these stunts.

For further proof of this theatrical charade, consider what we don’t see. We never get any follow-up footage when politicians finally gain access to these facilities. There are no primetime reports or shocking headlines about the terrible conditions or mistreatment of immigrants. If such evidence existed, you can bet the media would be all over it.
These politicians claim they want to get information about the treatment of detainees, but that part never seems to make it to the news. Instead, it’s always the confrontations and accusations of mistreatment of the politicians that get reported, with the press eagerly playing along.
The real aim here is to put on a show. The focus isn’t on the welfare of immigrants but rather on the supposed mistreatment of Democrat politicians.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration has drastically decreased. Despite the left’s false narratives, no new legislation was needed to secure our borders, just a change in leadership.
