Feds: Woman Screamed Death Threats During Immigration Arrest

A woman in Malden, Massachusetts, has been arrested after federal agents say she blocked and threatened officers who were detaining a person believed to be an illegal immigrant. The suspect, identified as Bethany Abigail Terrill, 37, faces a federal charge for threatening a United States official. The encounter happened after a court hearing tied to a separate incident involving property damage.

According to court filings, federal agents were supporting Immigration Enforcement and Removal Operations near Malden District Court on September 29 when they encountered Terrill outside the courthouse. Agents say she physically inserted herself between officers and the person being taken into custody. She allegedly shoved past officers even though the detainee was not resisting.

Federal officials say Terrill became verbally abusive while filming the encounter with her phone. It is alleged she repeatedly ignored commands to step back and continued to push into the officers’ space. Agents identified themselves with badges, placards and clothing and warned her she could be arrested if she did not comply.

The complaint quotes Terrill shouting at the scene, “ICE is here, ICE is here,” “You guys are monsters, this is insane,” “Sir, what’s your name, what’s your name,” “I can try to help you,” and “I am an American civilian, I have a right to be here.” It is also alleged that she screamed the more violent line, “Charlie Kirk died, and we love it… We’re coming for you, gonna kill you.” Those phrases are part of the federal allegations.

Agents say Terrill attempted to physically interfere with the arrest while filming. The arresting officers told her to back away multiple times, but she allegedly failed to comply. The incident was recorded by the agents’ body-worn cameras and, officials say, on Terrill’s phone as well.

The charge Terrill faces—threatening a United States official—carries serious federal penalties. The statute provides for up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a maximum fine of $250,000. Sentencing, if convicted, will be decided by a federal judge under the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and applicable statutes.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, announced the charge. Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case. The defendant is scheduled for an initial appearance in federal court in Boston.

The incident comes amid a tense time for immigration enforcement. Last month, someone shot up an ICE facility in Dallas and killed two detainees, prompting federal law enforcement to boost security at ICE locations nationwide. That context has increased scrutiny on interactions between agents and bystanders at enforcement actions.

The allegations against Terrill include both obstruction and explicit threats, which federal prosecutors say put agents at risk during a routine enforcement action. Law enforcement officials emphasize they were attempting to lawfully detain the individual after a local court appearance when the interference occurred. The case now moves into the federal court process where evidence, including the recorded footage, will be examined.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
