This Top Democrat Just Hit Karoline Leavitt With Vicious Personal Attacks
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries unloaded a string of harsh personal insults at White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt while talking to reporters, turning a policy spat into a headline-grabbing confrontation. The exchange came amid broader fights over messaging, the border, and the ongoing government shutdown. Supporters on the right say the attack crossed a line by making the disagreement about character instead of policy.
“You’ve got Karoline Leavitt, who’s sick. She’s out of control. And I’m not sure whether she’s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above,” Jeffries said.”But the notion that an official White House spokesperson would say that the Democratic Party consists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants makes no sense, that this is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown.”
Leavitt responded forcefully on X, refusing to back down and insisting her description of Democratic behavior was accurate. Her post pulled no punches and accused House Democrats of enabling dangerous elements and soft-on-crime policies. The exchange quickly became a rallying point for conservative commentators who frame the fight as one over basic law and order and national security.
🚨 JUST IN: Hakeem Jeffries calls Karoline Leavitt "sick, she's out of control…demented, ignorant, a stone cold liar, or all of the above."
Every single one of those words apply to Hakeem, not Karoline.

Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats are lashing out because they know what I said is true. The Democrat Party’s elected officials absolutely cater to pro-Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals. House Democrats voted against a resolution condemning Hamas following the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks, and Democrats cheered on pro-Hamas radicals while they hijacked America’s college campuses and harassed Jewish students. Democrats opened our borders and allowed tens of millions of illegal aliens into our country over the past four years, including rapists and murderers, because they view them as future voters. Democrats coddle violent criminals and support soft-on-crime policies like cashless bail that let violent offenders back on the streets to hurt law-abiding citizens. Democrats do NOT serve the interests of the American people. Hakeem Jeffries is an America Last, stone-cold loser. Now open up the government and stop simping to try to get your radical left-wing base to like you.
The immediate backstory included a question about a reported swastika drawn on an American flag that was hanging on a corkboard in the office of Representative Dave Taylor, a Republican from Ohio. Jeffries had been asked about that symbol and its presence as tensions boiled over in public and on camera. That detail fed the heat around the exchange and gave opponents on the right more reason to criticize Democratic leaders for tone and priorities.
The language used by Jeffries is notable not just for its venom but for how it frames political disagreement as personal dysfunction. Conservatives argue that labeling an opponent “demented” or a “stone-cold liar” breaks norms and distracts from policy debates that matter to voters: border security, crime, and the cost of government. Republicans point to the broader context—what they call the Schumer-led shutdown and soft-on-crime stances—to explain why political rhetoric has escalated.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
For many conservatives the incident is more than theater; it is evidence of a deeper divide about who represents everyday Americans versus who represents political causes and activist constituencies. The verbal blows traded on camera will likely stick with voters who already see Washington as out of touch and too volatile. Expect both parties to keep using sharp rhetoric as they court their bases and shape the narrative around the shutdown and public safety.
