A federal agent was attacked during an enforcement stop in Minnesota, leading to a shooting after the suspect allegedly assaulted the officer with a shovel and others joined the struggle.

A Venezuelan national was shot after officials say he attacked a federal law enforcement officer with a shovel during an enforcement action. The Department of Homeland Security provided the basic details and confirmed agents were involved in a target traffic stop that escalated quickly. According to a DHS statement to Fox News, the Venezuelan national was reportedly subject to a “target traffic stop” by federal agents.
