Trump Orders Iran To Disarm Tonight, Threatens Regime

President Trump set an 8 pm deadline for Iran to accept a ceasefire and disarm, warning that failure to comply would bring severe military consequences aimed at overthrowing the ruling regime.

President Trump gave the Iranian regime until 8 pm tonight to agree to a ceasefire deal, framing the choice sharply: disarm and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, or face intense military action. The administration’s message was blunt and immediate, putting maximum pressure on Tehran to change course. This is being presented as a final diplomatic moment with clear consequences if ignored.

The President’s stance was built around a demand for tangible steps that would end Iran’s ability to project power and threaten navigation in the region. Officials insisted the goal is regime change in the sense of removing the radical leadership that has dominated Iran for decades. That target—an entrenched ruling class rather than the Iranian people—was stressed repeatedly in official remarks.

The reaction from the political left was loud and predictable, labeling targeted strikes on infrastructure as “war crimes” while ignoring the long record of violence sponsored by Tehran. For years many on the left downplayed or overlooked Hamas’s actions and Iran’s role in funding terror networks across the globe. That contrast is part of why this administration framed its move as a necessary reset on confronting state-sponsored aggression.

President Trump also posted on Truth Social this morning, raising the stakes in stark language and signaling how seriously the White House views the situation. The post was intended to communicate both resolve and a willingness to offer an off-ramp if Iran complies with concrete terms. Public messaging like this is meant to squeeze Tehran politically and militarily at the same time.

The President wrote on Truth Social:

A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

That post was meant to separate the regime from the population and to make clear the administration’s intent to eliminate a 47-year pattern of hostile policy and terror sponsorship. Critics seized on the dramatic phrasing and tried to turn it into a claim that the entire country was the target, but the administration’s language repeatedly singles out the ruling elite. The emphasis has been on dismantling the regime’s capacity to wage terrorism and hurt regional stability.

Not everyone bought the alarmist takes. Some commentators on the left insisted the deadline was a prelude to nuclear strikes, but those narratives ignored the administration’s stated aim of crippling leadership and infrastructure tied to Iran’s proxy and terror networks. That kind of framing, when divorced from the facts on the ground, becomes fodder for political outrage rather than a sober analysis of strategic objectives.

As Trey Yingst said, there is still an off-ramp for Iran. “He was very serious if the Iranians are unwilling to make a deal, there will extremely heavy consequences,” Yingst noted.

“Certainly, questions to ask the President today about the context of this post on Truth Social and possible plans for the United States and what the list of targets may look like,” Yingst said. “This is the final moment here, an off-ramp for the Iranians. The President, it appears, is putting the most amount of pressure possible.”

The administration is choosing a strategy that combines public pressure and military readiness to force a decision. That mix—loud warnings, diplomatic windows, and explicit threats of force if necessary—is how this White House prefers to get results. Supporters argue it replaces decades of weak responses with a clear plan to neutralize threats and restore deterrence in the region.
