Democrat Senate Hopeful Graham Platner Admitted Taliban-Compromised Network Was Used for ‘Phone Sex’

Graham Platner’s past online posts and battlefield comments raise serious questions about judgment, operational security, and respect for fellow service members, and the record includes explicit admissions about risky behavior and crude attacks that voters deserve to know about.

Graham Platner is the Democrat running to unseat Susan Collins in Maine, and his record of online posts and remarks from his military service paint a troubling portrait. The collected material shows a pattern of crude humor, poor judgment, and repeated attacks on people who served alongside him. Those facts matter when a candidate asks for a Senate seat.

Some of the posts go beyond tasteless and into actions that could have put others at risk. In March 2017 on Reddit’s r/Military forum, he described a sexual habit tied to portable toilets in explicit language that many would call disgraceful. That post is part of a broader set of comments that reveal a long-standing pattern rather than isolated lapses.

In one March 2017 post on Reddit’s r/Military forum, Platner responded to a discussion about nostalgic military smells by writing: “I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a portas—-er … that blue water smell conditioned me.”

Platner also admitted using a cellphone network in Afghanistan that intelligence warned was compromised, meaning enemy actors potentially had access to calls. He used the Roshan network in 2010-2011 and later admitted he used a Roshan phone to have “phone sex” with his girlfriend, which by his own account exposed intimate communications on a compromised system. He acknowledged the account P-Hustle belonged to him, and he confirmed those posts as his in October of last year.

In 2010-2011, I was in Afghanistan as a rifle squad leader with the Army and I was blown away that everyone had cell phones and the command didn’t seem to remotely care. Hell, the unit I replaced gave me a Roshan phone with some minutes on it, which I totally used to have phone sex with my girl.

The reality is clear: a 2007 United Nations report warned Roshan was compromised by the Taliban, and Platner’s own words suggest he knowingly used that network for private conversations. He later admitted his behavior “seemed like really sh***y OPSEC standards.” That admission undercuts any claim that these were innocent mistakes and highlights negligence with operational security in a combat zone.

He went on to boast in 2021 about using other service members’ satellite phones and internet access for similar behavior, admitting he used those resources to “cyber f**k” his girlfriend. That kind of talk and admitted use of shared military equipment for sexual calls shows disrespect for the people who trusted him and for the systems that protect missions and lives. It also shows a pattern of treating professional boundaries as optional.

That said, we had some SOC -SMG dudes on our little ING/IA compound guarding the construction crews, they were a weird mix of former cops/Force guys/SEALs/infantry. Good guys all around, easygoing and let us use their Internet and sat phones to cyber f**k our girlfriends back home.

Beyond operational carelessness, some of Platner’s comments target fellow soldiers in ways that are cruel and callous. He mocked a wounded infantryman who moved into the open to draw enemy fire and protect his unit, calling him a “dumb motherf***er” and saying he “didn’t deserve to live.” That line of thinking demeans sacrifice and erodes the solidarity expected among service members, not to mention basic decency.

This video never gets old. Dumb motherf***er didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat a** wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt. Poor marksmanship on the Taliban’s part is the only reason this mouthbreather made it home, he managed to make every possible s**t decision possible when it comes to small unit combat

Pfc. Ted Daniels, the soldier he mocked, had moved into the open to draw fire and protect his comrades, a selfless act that saved lives. Platner’s choice to insult that action shows a pattern of judgment that voters should weigh carefully. This is not mere online provocation; it reflects attitudes that matter when someone seeks to represent a state in the Senate.

These revelations point to sustained vulgarity, poor judgment, and questionable respect for both military operations and fellow Americans. Maine voters deserve answers about why a candidate with this record should be entrusted with a national office, and the contrast between Democrats’ claims about character and their silence here is stark. The facts stand on their own, and voters will decide whether he represents their values.
