Freedom 250 Honors Military, Brings Patriotic Lineup

The Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., set for June 25–July 10, will feature a wide-ranging lineup of music acts, military ensembles, themed days, and a major Independence Day celebration on the National Mall, all presented as part of the broader Freedom 250 commemorations.

Country star Martina McBride, Flo Rida, The Commodores and Vanilla Ice are among the performers slated for the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. from June 25-July 10, Townhall has learned. The festival aims to blend big-name entertainment with a series of events that run across two weeks on the capital’s public stages.

Other musical guests will include C+C Music Factory, Milli Vanilli, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and Bret Michaels. That roster spans generations and genres, from country to hip-hop to classic soul, and it’s clearly designed to draw a broad audience to the celebration.

“The Great American State Fair is America on display and a moment for America to come together,” Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach said in a statement on Wednesday. The phrasing places unity and public celebration at the center of the event’s mission and sets expectations for a patriotic, community-focused atmosphere.

“The Great American State Fair will bring together people from all 56 states and territories to celebrate the traditions, innovation, music, military heritage, freedom and entrepreneurial spirit that define our nation. The performers, innovators, military heroes, and everyday Americans showcased here represent the very best of who we are, and the boundless opportunity ahead,” he added.

A significant number of military bands, including the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, Army Downrange Rock, and the Airmen of Note Jazz Ensemble, are also slated to perform. Those ensembles are expected to underscore the fair’s emphasis on military heritage and to offer stirring ceremonial and musical moments throughout the schedule.

Each day of the fair will have a different theme, including days focused on honoring the military and veterans, faith, families, and technological innovation. Organizers are also promoting a “MAHA Monday” meant to highlight inspiration for healthier, stronger, and thriving living, which suggests fitness and wellness programming alongside the music.

On Independence Day, there will be a “grand-scale” party on the National Mall featuring fireworks and entertainment, according to the press release. Attendance to the fair’s events is free, which the organizers say will make the celebrations widely accessible to anyone who wants to join in the holiday and the broader festivities.

The state fair is one of several major events planned to mark America’s 250th birthday, with additional highlights including a Freedom 250 Grand Prix scheduled for August and other tie-ins across the summer. The overall calendar aims to layer civic celebrations, sporting spectacles, and cultural programming into a summer-long series of events.
