Prediction market platform Kalshi is offering new users a promotional deal tied to Thursday night’s NFL matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. Using the promo code NYPMAX, new account holders can trade $25 on any NFL Week 2 game and receive a $25 bonus.
Thursday’s game marks the first time Highmark Stadium in Buffalo has hosted a “Thursday Night Football” broadcast. Oddsmakers have the Bills favored by 4.5 points, while Kalshi’s own traders currently give Buffalo a 67-percent chance of winning.
To claim the offer, new users sign up for a Kalshi account, enter the code NYPMAX, verify their account details, and complete at least $25 in trades. Kalshi allows users to trade on outcomes across a range of markets, including sports, politics and weather, rather than placing traditional sports bets.
The service is currently available in most states and territories, including New York, California, Texas and Florida, among others. It is not available in Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio or Washington.
The Bills and Lions last met on Dec. 15, 2024, in a high-scoring affair that Buffalo won 48-42. Both teams again feature productive offenses heading into Thursday’s game. Buffalo has the advantage of playing at home on a short week, while Detroit was pushed to overtime in its previous game against a New Orleans Saints team many considered overmatched.
Kalshi’s promotional terms note that the offer applies only to new users and carries standard eligibility restrictions, including a minimum age of 18. The company also cautions that trading event contracts carries financial risk and may not be suitable for all users.
