First Lady Melania Trump joined President Trump in Manhattan on Tuesday for the 81st United Nations General Assembly, then hosted spouses of world leaders at the St. Regis Hotel to announce an expansion of her “Fostering the Future Together” initiative.
The program aims to increase children’s access to education technology while promoting online safety, according to organizers. Mrs. Trump spoke at a press conference at the hotel, where she and the expanded coalition of foreign spouses posed together for photographs.
The couple arrived earlier in the day at United Nations Headquarters, where world leaders convened for a General Assembly session covering issues including artificial intelligence and the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
For the UN appearance, Mrs. Trump wore a black Dolce & Gabbana single-breasted suit with an extra-large lapel, paired with Christian Louboutin pumps and a white blouse. The suit closely resembled the Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo jacket she wore for her official black-and-white portrait as First Lady.
The St. Regis event, set against gilded décor, chandeliers and blush-toned table settings, marked the latest public push for the initiative since its launch.
