Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were called to former Vice President Kamala Harris’ Malibu home Friday night after a woman entered the property without permission on two separate occasions, according to multiple reports.
The woman had been dropped off by an Uber and first tried to contact security at the roughly $8 million home, where she was told to leave, the California Post reported. She returned a second time, prompting Harris’ security team to call authorities after 10 p.m. The woman was not arrested, according to FOX 11.
Lt. Jason Duron, a watch commander at the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s station, told the Los Angeles Times that patrols of the property are being increased ‘to be safe.’
“Last night, security personnel stopped an individual who illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman [Doug] Emhoff’s property before the individual reached the home. They are grateful to the security and law enforcement personnel who responded swiftly.”
The statement came from Eduardo Negrón, a spokesman for Harris, who told The Times that neither Harris nor former Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were home at the time.
Harris and Emhoff purchased the Malibu property in January of last year. Harris, a California native, previously served as San Francisco’s district attorney, the state’s attorney general and a U.S. senator representing California before becoming vice president.
President Donald Trump ended Harris’ Secret Service protection a year ago. Her detail had been extended a year beyond the traditional six-month period afforded to former vice presidents under an arrangement made by former President Joe Biden.
Fox News Digital said it had reached out to the sheriff’s department and representatives for Harris for comment.
