Costco’s Kirkland Signature Peppermint Bark is back on shelves earlier than usual this season, and at some locations it’s cheaper than it was last year.
The 21-ounce container of the holiday treat, layered with dark and white chocolate and topped with crushed peppermint candy, is selling for $12.99 at some stores, or less than $1.75 per serving. Availability and pricing can vary by location.
That’s down from $16.99 in 2025, though still above the $9.99 price it carried in 2023, according to reports.
The price jump last holiday season drew complaints from shoppers. One Reddit user called the bark “good, but not for $16.99,” and others said they skipped buying it last year or opted instead for Williams-Sonoma’s version, which runs about $35.
Even at $12.99, Costco’s peppermint bark remains far cheaper than specialty alternatives like the Williams-Sonoma option.
Fans of the treat have been vocal about its return. One Reddit user wrote, “The Kirkland brand peppermint bark in the bakery is absolutely fire,” adding that it’s “way better than” Ghirardelli’s individually wrapped bark. On Instagram, Costco-focused accounts reacted to the news in the comments of a video posted by @discovering_costco. The account @costcobayareafinds wrote “Peppermint bark!!” with heart-eye emojis, while @momcartfinds commented, “Omg yess the peppermint bark.”
Other Holiday and Seasonal Items
Costco is also stocking other holiday items, including Toblerone Biscoff truffles, Lindt Teddy Advent calendars, assorted Lindor truffles, Ferrero gift boxes, Kirkland Signature European cookies in festive tins, and traditional and chocolate-filled panettone.
The retailer has also restocked Kirkland Signature organic Madagascar vanilla beans, sold as 20 whole pods for $9.69, or roughly 48 cents per bean, which can be used for holiday baking or homemade vanilla extract.
Fall bakery items are still available as well, including a pumpkin bar cake, a 4-pound pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake and caramel apple strudel bites.
Costco did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
