Lewis Hamilton spoke publicly about his relationship with Kim Kardashian’s four children during a panel at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, on Saturday.
“My girlfriend’s kids, I love spending time with them,” Hamilton said, referring to North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7. “She’s got four, so I’m getting to play with these kids. I got them a dog this year, so little Halo is a new member of that family.”
Hamilton also reflected on the joy of being around children generally, saying, “My niece and nephew always gave me a lot of happiness.”
Kardashian shares her four children with ex-husband Kanye West, whom she divorced in 2021 after seven years of marriage. Hamilton and Kardashian were first romantically linked in February, after being spotted together on a trip to the UK. The two made their first public appearance as a couple at the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, and made the relationship official on Instagram in April, when Hamilton posted a video of the pair driving a Ferrari F40 through Tokyo.
In the months since, Hamilton has been seen spending time with Kardashian’s children on multiple occasions. Over the summer, he was photographed with her eldest son, Saint, at a Tokyo shop specializing in rare Pokémon cards. In July, Kardashian shared a photo from a Fourth of July family getaway showing Hamilton with her kids, including a selfie with her daughter Chicago, captioned “summers at the lake with my favorite people.”
A source previously told People magazine that Kardashian is careful about who she allows around her children. “She’s very protective of them and doesn’t take new introductions lightly,” the source said. “The fact that Lewis has spent time with the kids reflects how much she trusts him.”
Hamilton’s last major relationship was with singer Nicole Scherzinger, from 2007 to 2015.
