Trump Rallies in Port Huron for Rogers, Targets Senate Rival El-Sayed Over Muslim Brotherhood Claims

President Trump held a campaign rally in Port Huron on Sunday afternoon, stumping for Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers and launching repeated attacks on Rogers’ Democratic opponent, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.

Ahead of the event, Trump previewed his message in a post on Truth Social, writing that he was “heading to Michigan to fight a Jihadist Member of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

At the rally, Trump devoted a significant portion of his remarks to casting El-Sayed as a national security threat, repeatedly calling him a jihadist and pointing to alleged ties between El-Sayed’s family and the Muslim Brotherhood.

“Anyone with that record of support for jihadists would be screened and unable to get a seat on an airplane. They certainly should not give him a seat in the United States Senate,” Trump told the crowd.

He went further, suggesting that if El-Sayed were elected, he should face extra security screening in Washington.

“He would be the only senator that will have to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate. I want him to have a metal detector!”

Trump also told attendees, “I’m here to keep a jihadist Muslim Brotherhood member from becoming a United States Senator, and that’s the fact. We’re not going to let that happen,” and said El-Sayed “should never be allowed inside the halls of our great, beautiful Capitol building in Washington, D.C.”

El-Sayed has denied the characterizations and said the attacks against him are rooted in his religion rather than his record.

Beamer Also Addresses Crowd

David Beamer, the father of Todd Beamer, one of the passengers who confronted hijackers aboard United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, also spoke at the Port Huron rally. He criticized El-Sayed directly, saying the Democratic candidate was willing to accept support from groups hostile to the United States.

“He’s anti-American. He is happy to be endorsed by our foreign enemies that hate us like the Muslim Brotherhood. He’s happy to take their endorsement and their money because his views align with theirs and theirs align with his.”

Beamer argued that El-Sayed’s policy positions, including on policing and economic issues, amounted to an effort to undermine the country from within. He closed his remarks with “Let’s roll,” the phrase his son used before passengers moved against the hijackers on Flight 93.

The rally comes as Rogers and El-Sayed compete in one of the closely watched Senate races of the 2026 midterms, with control of Congress at stake.
