The Kansas City Chiefs, one of three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, travel to Lumen Field tonight to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a Sunday Night Football matchup pitting the league’s two most recent Super Bowl champions against each other.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs enter the game at 5-0, coming off a bye week and riding a record-setting start from running back Kenneth Walker III, who has posted standout rushing numbers in his first five games with Kansas City after joining the team this season.
Walker, the 2026 Super Bowl MVP, previously played for Seattle, making tonight’s game a notable return to Lumen Field. NBC Sports has flagged his homecoming as a key storyline, noting that if any team is built to slow him down, it’s the Seahawks defense that knows him best.
Seattle, led by quarterback Sam Darnold, comes in at 3-3 after a rocky six weeks that included narrow losses — each by three points or fewer — to the Commanders, 49ers and Broncos. Despite the uneven record, oddsmakers have installed the Seahawks as 2.5-point favorites over the unbeaten Chiefs.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald addressed the team’s recent struggles following the loss to Denver.
“We had some honest conversations, an honest process,” Macdonald said. “I think we’re definitely more aligned as a team than we were a few days ago and I’m excited about where we can go, honestly.”
Along with the Chiefs, the 49ers and Vikings remain the only other undefeated teams left in the league through six weeks of play. For Kansas City, a win tonight would keep that streak alive against a Seattle team desperate to find consistency at home.
