Rosie O’Donnell has posted a new video to social media in which she compares the United States to Nazi-era Germany and makes unsubstantiated claims that children held in ICE detention facilities are being sexually assaulted.
In the video, O’Donnell said, “Countries have fallen — stronger and bigger than ours — to fascism,” before referencing American losses in World War II. “In World War II, we lost a lot of Americans over there, doing what was right, ending this genocide, this Holocaust,” she said. “And we all vowed, ‘Never again,’ remember? Never again would we allow. Why did the German people allow that? Why did they? Nobody thought it was that bad, and they started making gas chambers.”
O’Donnell went on to accuse the U.S. government of “making concentration camps,” saying, “We’re rounding up people without a warrant. We’re raping children in ICE detention. They’re all getting pregnant.” She also asked, “And they’re separated — males and females — who has access to those girls? What happens to their babies? What do they do with them?”
She did not offer evidence for the claims in the video. O’Donnell also asked, “There are big questions. How did the Trump family make billions and billions of dollars in 18 months?”
The video is the latest in a string of posts O’Donnell has made on TikTok since President Donald Trump’s inauguration last year. Last month, she posted a video song referencing the president’s anatomy and “dirty diapers,” days after saying Trump is “obsessed” with her — a claim she has repeated on multiple occasions, even as her own therapist has reportedly urged her to focus less on the president.
O’Donnell, who moved to Ireland last year, has also claimed in earlier posts that Trump could use an “assassination attempt or terrorist bombing” as a pretext to cancel this year’s midterm elections. She has separately said her 12-year-old child, who has autism, has been distressed over the president and has “smashes her hand on the table” out of a belief that Trump forced the family to leave the United States.
