Kelly Osbourne says she has no interest in reconciling with her estranged older sister, Aimee, describing a rift that goes back to their childhood and the family’s reality TV years.
Speaking on the “We Need To Talk” podcast, Kelly said she isn’t close with Aimee but tried to “respect her enough to, you know, keep her anonymity” over the years.
Aimee chose not to appear on “The Osbournes,” the MTV reality series that turned Kelly, brother Jack, and parents Ozzy and Sharon into household names starting in 2002. The show ran four seasons before ending in 2005. Aimee, who lived in the family’s guest house at the time, stayed out of the cameras’ view.
“I believe there’s a reason for everything; it just wasn’t meant to be for her,” Kelly said of that decision.
Kelly said the distance between them predates the show. “It was always me and Jack,” she said. “If I’m honest, my older sister didn’t really ever acknowledge me and my brother. She was just in her own world doing her own thing.” She added that she has “to a certain extent” felt Aimee was embarrassed by the rest of the family.
“I’ll never really truly understand, it just felt that way,” Kelly said. “We’re very different. Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not… we’re like oil and water.”
Kelly also said she has long resented growing up without a close older sister to guide her. “I will tell you it’s one of the hardest things in my life that I never got a big sister, and I had to learn how to do certain things that a big sister should have taught you, on my own,” she said. “I do have a resentment there, I’ll have that forever.”
Asked about reconciling, Kelly said she sees no path forward.
“I respect her, I accept her, but… we’re different and that’s OK. If you’re not going to accept me for who I am and constantly trying to change me and say horrible things about me and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.”
Representatives for Kelly and Aimee did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Aimee has previously explained her decision to stay off the family’s show. Speaking to New York radio station Q1043 in 2020, she said she had grown up around a well-known father and valued her privacy. “For me personally, and for who I am, you know, as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn’t really line up with what I saw my future as,” she said, according to People. She added that the show “definitely worked great for the rest of my family,” but wasn’t right for her.
Ozzy Osbourne, the family’s patriarch and heavy metal icon known as the “Prince of Darkness,” died July 22, 2025, at age 76 after years of health struggles.
