Carolina hosts Atlanta looking for its first win of the season after allowing the Chicago Bears to score 59 points in Week 1. The Panthers moved the ball well on offense but couldn’t slow Chicago’s running or passing attacks. Atlanta also lost in Week 1, falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers, though its defense fared better. The Falcons will again lean on quarterback Cooper Rush and running back Bijan Robinson, who posted 173 total yards and a touchdown last week.
In the afternoon window, Jacksonville faces Denver in a matchup of two teams that made the playoffs last season. The Jaguars lost to the Buffalo Bills in the opening round but bounced back in Week 1 with a rout of the Cleveland Browns, as quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes spread across several receivers. Denver, which came within a game of the Super Bowl last season, struggled in its opener. Quarterback Bo Nix, back from offseason ankle surgery, was held to 131 passing yards by the Kansas City Chiefs defense, while running back JK Dobbins managed just 36 rushing yards.
