The Barista Touch Impress is a fully automatic machine with a built-in grinder, milk frother and included tamper. It features an automated Impress Puck System that applies 22 pounds of assisted tamping pressure and auto-corrects the next grind dose, along with Auto MilQ settings for dairy, oat, almond and soy milk. Its ThermoJet heating system reaches optimal extraction temperature in about three seconds, and it can produce espresso, lattes and flat whites.

Buying a $10 latte every day for a year costs $3,650. Buying the discounted Breville machine and supplying your own beans, milk and syrups brings the first year’s total coffee cost down to roughly $1,900, according to the New York Post, which reviewed the machine. Because the machine doesn’t need to be repurchased, the second year’s cost drops to a little over $3,000 in savings compared with daily café purchases. The Post estimates the machine typically pays for itself in seven to 12 months for people who currently buy coffee out daily.
The machine comes with a two-year limited product warranty, and purchases made through Amazon are covered by the retailer’s standard 30-day return policy. Maintenance involves wiping the auto-purging steam wand daily, rinsing the portafilter, and running automated descaling and backflushing cycles when prompted.
