Several children of “Real Housewives” franchise stars have faced serious legal trouble in recent months, long after the cameras that made their parents famous stopped rolling.
Teresa Giudice, 54, star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” recently said her daughter Milania, 20, had “fentanyl in her system” during an incident at Tampa International Airport in Florida. Bodycam footage obtained by Page Six captured the encounter, during which Milania told officers, “Cause I was laced … I go to college,” prompting her sister Gia to respond, “You’re reckless.” It remains unclear exactly when the fentanyl incident occurred, what substance Milania allegedly consumed, or who she believes was responsible.
In the footage, Milania can be heard asking to speak with her mother, and an officer reminds her she is “not controlling the situation.”
Teresa Giudice addressed the footage in a lengthy statement posted to social media.
“As a mother, there is nothing more important to me than the health, safety, and well-being of my children. The past few months have been incredibly difficult for our family, and I feel it is important to say something while also protecting my daughter during an extremely vulnerable time in her life.”
Giudice said Milania had “experienced tremendous heartbreak and significant psychological trauma after losing two of her best friends” and said she is ensuring her daughter is “surrounded by love, family, support, and the care she needs.”
The airport incident came months after Milania was arrested on a simple assault charge in New Jersey following an alleged dispute. She pleaded not guilty in June, and her next court hearing in that case has been postponed to Dec. 1.
Indictment in Georgia
In Fulton County, Georgia, KJ Biermann, 15 — whose full name is Kroy Jagger Biermann — was indicted last month on seven counts, including child molestation, multiple counts of sexual battery against a child under 16, aggravated sodomy and false imprisonment, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.
KJ is the son of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann. He was arrested in August and initially charged with two felony counts stemming from an alleged incident in April. Zolciak has denied the allegations in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. KJ was granted a $200,000 bond in September.
Zolciak and Biermann, who divorced after 11 years of marriage with both filing in 2023, also share son Kash, 14, and twins Kaia and Kane, 12. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s daughters from a previous relationship, Ariana and Brielle.
More cases across the franchise
“RHOA” star NeNe Leakes’ son, Bryson Bryant, was booked on a contempt of court charge in July, according to TMZ. He had been arrested in May for allegedly failing to pay court-ordered child support, violating probation and failing to appear in court. That probation stemmed from an earlier case in which authorities said Bryant was found with fentanyl and allegedly gave his younger brother’s name during the arrest. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation for providing a false name, along with 40 hours of community service, a substance abuse evaluation and a $500 fine.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” figure Alexa Curtin, 33, received a 68-day jail sentence in 2021 on multiple criminal charges, along with three years of probation and an order to pay restitution for damages. Years earlier, Curtin had been charged with two misdemeanors after drugs were allegedly found in her vehicle, and in 2018 she was charged with driving under the influence after police said they found drug paraphernalia.
Curtin has since said that growing up on camera contributed to her struggles with addiction.
“It being played out in the public forum like that … was really hard for me, like really difficult because all my friends in school were watching it and they really weren’t too nice to me.”
Curtin made the comments to the Daily Mail earlier this year.
