Rams Lineman Alaric Jackson Faces Two-Game NFL Suspension for Postgame Punch

The NFL is expected to suspend Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson for two games after he punched Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb following Monday night’s game between the two teams.

Video from after the final whistle shows Jackson walking onto the field during the traditional postgame handshakes and jersey exchanges, then striking Chubb in the face after a brief exchange between the two players.

According to the league’s suspension statement, Jackson’s actions violated “Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1,” which covers “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.” Jackson is expected to appeal the discipline.

Chubb did not retaliate, allowing Buffalo teammates to pull him away from the confrontation. Speaking afterward, he downplayed the incident.

“It’s just emotions,” Chubb said. “They always catch the second guy. So, I let him swing. And then my teammates held me back, and I just chilled.”

This is not the first time Jackson’s conduct has drawn league scrutiny. In June 2026, he was arrested in Southern California on a felony domestic violence charge. Prosecutors did not file formal criminal charges and instead referred the matter to a pre-filing diversion hearing, but the incident remains under ongoing NFL review.

In 2024, the league suspended Jackson for two games under its Personal Conduct Policy after he recorded intimate encounters without consent, an incident that also led to a civil lawsuit.

The Rams currently sit at 2-3 in a competitive NFC field. Jackson’s absence would remove a starting left tackle tasked with protecting quarterback Matthew Stafford’s blind side at a critical point in the season.
