Vance Addresses Guilfoyle Allegations, Says He'd Comply With Democratic Subpoenas, at Michigan Town Hall

Vice President JD Vance fielded questions on corruption allegations involving former U.S. Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle and on the prospect of congressional investigations during a CBS News town hall in Michigan on Saturday night.

CBS host Tony Dokupil asked Vance directly about allegations of corruption tied to Guilfoyle. Vance responded, “First of all, if somebody’s selling access to the White House, that’s disgusting and despicable and they should suffer consequences.”

He added that he preferred to withhold judgment until more information was available, saying, “I want to make those judgments based on the facts and not based on a random news media report that I read.”

Dokupil also asked Vance whether he and the administration would cooperate with congressional Democrats if they gain control of the House or Senate and move forward with subpoenas to investigate the matter. Democrats have said they intend to pursue such investigations if they retake either chamber.

“Of course I will. Look, I mean, we follow the law,” Vance said.

The town hall was part of a broader push by Vance to campaign in Michigan and other states ahead of upcoming elections, as he continues to make appearances on behalf of Republican candidates and the administration’s agenda.
