Vice President J.D. Vance, a longtime Cincinnati Bengals fan, took to social media Sunday to celebrate his team’s win over the Baltimore Ravens, in which the Bengals scored all 35 of their points in the second half.
Quarterback Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes as Cincinnati pulled away from Baltimore, delivering the kind of performance fans have been waiting for from a team many viewed as a Super Bowl contender heading into the season.
Vance did not attend the game in person but posted on X afterward: “Huge win for Cincinnati.” He followed up with a prediction for the rest of the season: “It’s early, but I think the Bengals are going to make a run. Who Dey!”
The win was Cincinnati’s second in a row, though the team has been inconsistent this season, alternating between two-game winning and losing streaks. The Bengals’ upcoming schedule includes four games against teams with losing records over their next five matchups, including the Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans, both of whom have just one win this season. Cincinnati will also face division co-leader Pittsburgh during that stretch, a game that could shape how far the Bengals’ potential run goes.
A Fan’s Favorite Player
Vance’s enthusiasm for the team extends to wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. During a visit to the Bengals’ training facility last week, Chase noticed Vance’s six-year-old son, Vivek, wearing a pair of Bengals football gloves.
“Nice gloves, man,” Chase told Vivek as he walked into the locker room.
Vance later posted about the moment, writing: “Special shout out to Ja’Marr Chase, an amazing talent, who made my little six-year-old’s year by noticing his football gloves.”
During that same visit, Vance met with Bengals head coach Zac Taylor along with other players and assistant coaches. Reports describing the team as unwelcoming or disengaged during the visit have been disputed.
