The Breeders’ Cup runs Friday and Saturday at Keeneland, capped by Saturday’s $7 million Classic, the richest horse race on the American calendar. This is the fourth time Keeneland has hosted the event, following 2015, 2020 and 2022.
Friday’s card is built around races for 2-year-old horses, while Saturday stacks nine Grade 1 races before the Classic closes out the day.
Horse racing isn’t available on most general sportsbook apps because it works differently from other sports betting. Wagers are pari-mutuel, meaning bettors are competing against each other in a shared pool rather than against the house. Because it’s regulated separately from sports betting, racing typically requires its own dedicated app, and availability depends on the state.
Where You Can Bet
FanDuel Racing is the most widely available option, live in more than 20 states. It carries full pari-mutuel wagering on the Breeders’ Cup card along with live video and replays. Customers who already have a FanDuel Sportsbook account can use the same wallet balance on FanDuel Racing without opening a separate account.
BetMGM Racebook also covers the full Breeders’ Cup card but is currently limited to three states: Florida, Louisiana and Ohio. For BetMGM customers in those states, it offers the same look and feel as the main BetMGM Sportsbook app.
TwinSpires, owned by Churchill Downs, has long been one of the major names in online horse racing. It’s licensed in more states than most dedicated racing apps and is aimed at experienced horse players, with detailed track coverage, handicapping tools and race replays. For bettors in states where FanDuel Racing and BetMGM Racebook aren’t offered, TwinSpires is typically the next option to check.
The welcome offers tied to the FanDuel and BetMGM sportsbook apps do not apply to horse racing wagers. New sportsbook users can still get up to $150 in bonus bets from FanDuel, or have their first bet covered up to $1,500 through BetMGM using bonus code FOXNEWS.
There’s plenty else happening on the sportsbooks this weekend beyond racing: Canelo Alvarez defends his title against Christian Mbilli on Saturday, Florida plays Georgia in Atlanta, the NBA has a full Saturday slate, and the NFL takes over on Sunday.
